Complejo Turístico Municipal Costa Martiánez

We visited in January. Unfortunately, there are no heated pools — all the pools were cold, and there was nothing heated for children either. Because of the cold water and wind, it was not very comfortable. Also, there was no entertainment or animation, so it felt a bit boring. There is a small kiosk selling food, toilets are available, and the views are beautiful, especially when there are waves. Half of the pools were closed and not working; we had to walk further to find the area where some pools were open. Overall, it’s not a bad place to visit for a change of scenery, but it would be much better if there were at least one heated pool. That would make a big difference, in my opinion.

If you are visiting Northern Tenerife, Lago Martiánez is an absolute must-see. Conceived by the visionary artist César Manrique in the 1970s, this complex is much more than just a public pool; it is a sprawling 65,000-square-meter open-air museum where contemporary art meets the Atlantic Ocean. Why it’s a 5-Star Experience: Stunning Design: The turquoise seawater pools are surrounded by volcanic rock, emerald gardens, and iconic white sculptures. The "Blue Lagoon" area features caves and coves that feel like a Caribbean oasis. Oceanfront Safety: While the local beaches can have dangerously rough waves, Lago Martiánez provides a safe, calm environment for swimming while you watch the massive Atlantic rollers crash against the sea wall just meters away. Incredible Value: As of 2026, admission is approximately €5.50 to €7.00 for adults. This includes a sunbed, making it a very affordable way to spend an entire day. Comprehensive Facilities: The complex is well-maintained with clean changing rooms, showers, and various bars and restaurants. It is also fully accessible for wheelchair users. Things to Keep in Mind: Refreshing Water: The pools are filled with natural seawater. While one pool may be heated, the others are generally unheated and can feel quite "bracing" or cold, especially in the winter months. Arrival Time: It is a popular spot. In peak summer months (July/August), try to arrive near the 10:00 AM opening to secure an umbrella, which costs a small extra fee (around €2.50). Entry Policy: Your ticket is for a single entry only; you cannot leave and return on the same ticket. Verdict: Whether you are traveling as a couple looking for a romantic spot or a family seeking a safe place for kids to swim, Lago Martiánez is the crown jewel of Puerto de la Cruz.

Only got to visit 2 of the pool areas as we arrived pretty late, weather wasn’t the best but I enjoyed our few hours there. TikTok brought me there all though it is a bit overpriced and over hyped it was a great day out pool was empty so enjoyed a good swim. Bathrooms are clean, however prepare your bones for the hill of death lol the hill or the steps to heaven as I named them short cut to the top is the steps if you ask me if walking to the bus is a life changer lolol but it was all worth it 8/10

Brilliant day spent here with three children aged 3, 7 and 8. Great selection of salt water pools for all ages. Beautiful ocean views allowing safe views of the ebb and flow. €7 per adult (August 2025) and under 11 free, €3 umbrella that you do need for shade. Open from 10am til 6pm and gets busy but still plenty of beds. Some pools have outside shower areas. On site bar and restaurants, only place you can smoke/vape is at the bar. Seemed to be a favourite for the locals. Several food/drinks sellers but be prepared to queue. We arrived for the opening and left at five with tired but happy children. Clean manned toilets with ample facilities. Not supposed to take your own food or drink but discretion is the way forward.

Great fun. €7 entry for full day, bar & food available. Salt water pool. Lovely & clean place with plenty of sun loungers. Quite busy but plenty of place to swim and friendly vibes. However expect umbrellas to be taken already. It is very deep in certain areas and rocky edges to get in and out so you must be careful during your time there. Not many lifeguards seen however they were blowing whistles at those jumping off rocks so were clearly present and aware.

We visited this great place in January 2025 and again in January 2026 and there are 2 main differences: 1) Entrance price went up from 5€ to 7€ whats a 40% bump 2) in paralel to 40% price increase, roughly half of the area is closed for reconstractions. So, in Jan 2026 we paid 40% more for 1/2 of the area/attractions vs Jan 2025, feels strange.

Wonderful views!! Entry is 7 euros for a day and umbrella is an additional 3 euros. The swimming pools are clean and enjoyable, the views are simply amazing and the sound + sight of ocean waves outside the pools makes it a unique experience! We spend half a day here but I think one full day would also be enjoyable!! Many options for eating and also clean dressing rooms and toilets. Only thing I didn’t like is that the staff was a bit unfriendly and started closing up the pools way before the actual closing time (6pm)

We spent a day here while on holiday at the end of November. Quite a few of the pools were closed but I assume this was due to winter maintenance and it didn’t spoil the experience as a large pool was open with plenty of sunbeds available. The water is quite cold, so we spent most of the time sunbathing but there are places to get food and drinks for reasonable prices. I would advise taking some wet wipes as the sun loungers are a bit greasy & salty off the water.
