It's like a travel lodge. .maybe. Not like other Howard Johnsons to our experience. Upon arrival the male desk clerk said my card was declined...It was not. He then stated that when people make reservations, they do their precheck.In and then try to get a free room.And that we were not going to be allowed to do that.We could not get a free room...My card was already charged insurance and the reservation was a pay on arrival. We drove 6hrs in for mom's funeral the following day. Paid for our room. Noise all night banging ALL NIGHT mostly at night so we had to sleep when we could during the day. Shutters on the windows that have light coming thru. Ant shooting out of a mostly caked up shower head and faucet. Warped flooring, TV cable programming? Uh no. Edit... now let's add housekeeping entering our room without knocking! Omg!! I can't recommend this motel. The cons heavily outweigh the positives.

After possibly the worst experience at Travelodge by Wyndham Whittier, traveled down a 10 minute drive to the Howard Johnson. The check in process without a reservation was very easy and the management was quick and professional. The overall site of the location when you pull in is landscaped nicely and parking is center to the horseshoe blueprint of how the rooms are laid out. The rooms are very clean and have everything needed from an ironing board, iron, microwave, mini fridge and extra room furniture which I appreciated coming with 2 kids. For the price, security, and amenities provided we will certainly be staying again on our next family visit for spring break.

The location was great, a lot of different stores, food, convenient and clothing. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was the worst part. There was muffins, bread, apples, bananas, coffee and OJ period.

The stay couldn't have been better the only things wrong was a drawer in a nightstand was broken & bedroom door had a hole in it that looked like someone kicked it otherwise everything was perfect. I definitely will b coming back next time in town. I definitely recommend this motel to anyone looking for a good deal on a really nice room
